An unidentified disgruntled downtown merchant called our offices today and left this message, complaining that Alibi employees are stealing all the downtown parking spots. Fact of the matter is is most of the Alibi employees who don’t either walk or ride a bicycle to work usually park our monthly paid parking lot or the parking garage. The Alibi also has customers too who need to park near our office to meet with their advertising reps. So we feel your pain and we aren’t the ones taking all of those spots! ; ) ![]() Yes, but there is nowhere to park! ![]() Semi truck on Central Ave. ![]() Movie vans on Central. ![]() More movie vehicles take parking between 6th and 7th streets on Central Ave. ![]() 6th street is completely blocked-off for filming. ![]() Movie catering truck. ![]() Another semi truck on Central Ave. View/Add Comments [ 14 ] John McCain bites his tongue in PAThis slip-up from McCain in Pennsylvania last Tuesday is f-n classic! But police suddenly shut the concert down, despite the fact that the festival had a legal permit until 7 p.m. When the angry crowd’s chants of "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me" failed to start the show, frontman Zack de la Rocha and guitarist Tom Morello hit the streets and performed an a cappella version of "Bulls on Parade." (no, not the new downtown location) Weck's... the place known for it's huge bowls of papas and enormous portions of various New Mexico flavored breakfast dishes has now opened a new location downtown at 4th and I-40. (Where Dos Amigos used to be) My wife and I visited the downtown location yesterday for the second Sunday morning in a row. Both Sundays the restaurant has been absolutely packed to the gills with a long wait and the waitstaff was struggling to keep up with the large volume of hungry people. But when the plate of carne adovada, eggs and potatoes (with a side of pancakes) got to our table it was all worth the wait!! Weck's did a nice (quick) job re-modeling the old Dos Amigos. The restaurant now has a nice, bright and fresh feel to it. I'm glad there is a Weck's downtown, I just wish they were open for dinner. Hopefully soon, more restaurants soon follow and open downtown. I hate driving up to the heights to eat out.
