Double Feature: OPHELIA and Heritage Journey at Rodey Theatre
By Sarah Williams [ Thu Mar 7 2013 1:45 PM ]
On the evenings of March 8 and 9, 2013, the UNM Department of Theatre & Dance will present a double bill of masterworks by their MFA candidates. "OPHELIA," an exceptional work of dance theatre by Jacqueline M. Garcia, draws inspiration from Shakespeare’s "Hamlet." Garcia’s work explores the intense subject matter of madness and fragmentation of the mind and self. Crystal Fullmer will present "Heritage Journey," an extraordinary work that explores the choreographer’s personal heritage and identity. The choreography tells a story through the thrilling combination of athleticism, musicality and delicate vulnerability. The performance will take place at Rodey Theatre, located in the UNM Center of the Arts. Tickets are $12 for the general public, $10 for faculty and seniors, and $8 for UNM staff & students. Tickets are available at all UNM ticket offices, online at unmtickets.com, or by calling 925-5858. For more information, please call 277-4332.
