World premier of Black Sabbath's new single/video

New album featuring 3/4 of the original band comes out June 11th

Out of my gloom I rise up from my tomb into impending gloom

Original drummer Bill Ward couldn't make it and Tony Iommi's lymphoma diagnosis caused Ozzy to go on an 18 month bender, but all in all "God is Dead?" Black Sabbath's first single from their new album 13, seems to cut the mustard. Experts agree that Tony Iommi's Sabbath Bloody Sabbath guitar sound broke barriers of distortion-physics and ultimately gave many stoners reason to live another day. I'm happy to report that Iommi's metal on metal guitar sound—complete with those constant pick squeaks—is present and accounted for. Also, Ozzy can still rhyme. We're good.

            Gravediggers in the Atari Graveyard

Worst video game of all time to be exhumed

            Play Youtube Video
            Behold: the "worst game ever"

Though this may be news to some, Alamogordo's Atari Graveyard draws visitors to the city year after year just to see a covered up old landfill, which is to say, nothing. Underneath the legendary spot, however, lie a HUGE number -some say nearly the entire existing inventory- of the world's worst video game, "E.T." It was "based" on the 1982 film, but apparently really, really sucked. Supposedly the home video game market was going south as well and that prompted Atari to crush, bury and cover in concrete at least nine semi-trailer loads of the game and consoles (which were manufactured in El Paso.)

I know. It doesn't make sense. But it will make a great documentary, which is why last Tuesday Alamogordo approved the proposal to dig up the Atari Graveyard by entertainment company Fuel Industries.

We shoulda done the Buick commercial, man

Ok, he was the keyboard player. However: The Doors never had a bass player and Manzarek did almost all the bass work with his Fender Rhodes electric piano (aided by his amazing coordination.) The Doors L.A. Woman was the first Doors record to feature a bass player, Jerry Scheff, who was one of Elvis Presley's backing musicians. No one here gets out alive, man.
