Come learn about caring for heirloom fruit trees and grape vines, drip and flood irrigation, year-round growing techniques and planting for wildlife.

The Gutierrez-Hubbell House sites on 10 acres of agriculture land that is managed by the Bernalillo County Extension Office. Farm Manager Gabriel Bauman-Baker is actively engaged in modeling a variety of sustainable and innovative backyard farming practices throughout the property. Part of the Bernalillo County Open Space Program’s ‘Backyard Farming’ series. This series features experts in their field who provide hands-on experiences giving participants practical information transforming their backyards into a thriving urban oasis of food, medicine and wildlife habitat. This series is FREE, but participants must RSVP. The workshops will be held at the Gutierrez-Hubbell House located at 6029 Isleta Blvd, 3 miles south of Rio Bravo Blvd. The series is developed in partnership with the Hubbell House Alliance, Bernalillo County Extension Office, and Erda Gardens & Learning Center.

Those familiar with Lewis Carroll’s literary menagerie of colorful characters will enjoy the clarity with which Christopher Wheeldon portrays them in dance. The whole Company is drawn into the fun, dancing a myriad of quirky characters: a twitchy White Rabbit, a tap dancing Mad Hatter, a sinuous caterpillar and so many more. Alice and the Knave of Hearts, deftly danced by two Royal Ballet Principal dancers, are at the centre of the story, and the role of The Queen of Hearts, another Principal, is wittily captured with hilarious results. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a brilliantly imagined show and, with a magical score, ingeniously inventive designs and a wealth of theatrical effects, has something for everyone to treasure.

Her characters are a little dark, a little crazy and lot funny. They're all facing some sort of struggle that comes along with being a mother....the hardest job in the world. SUSAN MELE(Actor/wig stylist) Susan has been doing theatre FOREVER! She has created and written one-woman shows, shaped her original cabaret character, Roxi Starr, and has produced several original works such as Pop Goes the Placenta, Rock, Paper, Scissors...Knife, Woman on the Rag, Roxi Starr in 3D and Just Say Blow Me. She was in the Chicago original cast of Tony and Tina’s Wedding and was in the longest running shockumentary, Cannibal Cheerleaders on Crack. Her all female sketch comedy group, Nude Coffee started in Chicago and worked its way through the Midwest and onto the West Coast. Nude Coffee has performed at the Chicago Improv, SF Punchline, SF Fringe Festival, HBO Workspace and Edinburgh Fringe Festival just to name a few. She is an improvisational teacher for New York Stage and Film at Vassar College, Baltimore's Center Stage Repertory Theatre and the Maryland Ensemble Theatre among many other places. She has directed grade school, high school, college and graduate school productions in Chicago, New York, LA and San Francisco. Her directing credits include one-person shows, sketch comedy, fully improvised pieces and musicals. She has studied with many of the Chicago improv greats like Mick Napier from the Annoyance Theatre and Second City and Del Close from Improv Olympics. She has a BA in Theatre from Niagara University and a MFA from Towson University. Susan was a finalist for Nickelodean's Funniest Mom in America.

Dr. Roxanne Howe-Murphy will speak and sign copies of her newly released book.

She uses the ancient wisdom of the Enneagram—a non-dogmatic system for exploring the human condition—to illuminate nine versions of the human condition and how each type has a particular way of unconsciously straying from one’s deepest nature. She offers proven tools and practices to apply these new insights to everyday life and to build the capacity for living with presence. Howe-Murphy is the author of the internationally acclaimed book, Deep Coaching: Using the Enneagram as a Catalyst for Profound Change, and the founder of the Deep Coaching Institute, a leading Enneagram coaching school, as well as the Deep Living Institute for spiritual and life practice. Now a resident of Santa Fe, she lived and worked for twenty years in San Mateo County and served on the faculties of San Francisco State, San Jose State, and Boston Universities. She currently is on the faculty of the Core Strengths Coaching Program at San Francisco State University.
