YES! More live music reviews, please! [ Thu Apr 18 2013 9:54 PM ]
This is a list of bands, locations and dates -- not a review.
I have enjoyed other editions of MaximumCaterwaul. This one is disappointing.
Last week's groceries [ Tue Apr 16 2013 9:27 PM ]
Calling this a "report" is a major overstatement. I learned who played when from the Alibi Music Calendar. At least when I read it in the Alibi Calendar it was relevant to my plans for the upcoming week. Hey, Caterwaul! Who played the Kosmos on December 18, 2010? Who cares?!
I particularly love the lists of bands that you didn't bother to listen to. Hey, I can support local music like that. I'm doing it right now!
It's incredible to see the world of sports doing what they can to contribute to the good.
Really? Will "The World of Sports" decouple itself from the military? No more flyovers, no more advertisements urging youngsters to equate violence with manhood? Maybe stop glorifying violent retribution? Will the Bruins swear off punching their opponents for competitive gain?
Manning gets a little Just-Us American-style [ Thu Feb 28 2013 8:42 PM ]
Bradley Manning gets 20 years and the murderers, liars and thieves that he exposed remain free.
Yesterday, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals said "we don't care if he IS innocent" to Carlsbad's Carl Case. Convicted of murder 25 or so years ago, Mr. Case got the 10th Circuit's permission (!) to appeal his conviction, convinced New Mexico judge Martha Vasquez that his conviction was a fix (new DNA evidence, witnesses recanted, old evidence of his innocence that the DA hid exposed), and the Court of Appeals says "Wrong answer!" Proving his innocence was not good enough for a new trial, much less getting released.
Its so glorious being an American, where at least I know I'm free!
I don't get it. If he "keeps pulling the pin" wouldn't he be dead already? [ Wed Jan 9 2013 9:52 PM ]
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha --- I get it! Its because Mohamed = terrorist, right?! Can you believe those Mohamedan savages? It's so backward to kill innocent bystanders with your own body, instead of, say, a flying robot. I thank Jesus every day for our bravely-bunkered keyboard pilots, courageously battling the pixillated heathens face-to-webcam-to-face.
Golly, it sounds like we should stop sending money to Israel. And wouldn't it be embarrassing if we let Israel's heart-warming loyalty to the USA lead to its sacrificing its young in Iran for us? No, no! They're too good! We must forbid it!
And shooting people that are not rabid criminals in the name of Protecting and Serving is evil.
But that does not mean that the police are evil. It means that our society is a framework that places policepeople in untenable situations. They are required to commit acts, the widely-varying consequences of which are occasionally - and retroactively - judged as evil.
I would recommend more humanity, but it's not reliably profitable.
