makes sense,  [ Tue Jun 4 2013 4:04 PM ]

Egypt, much like Antarctica is probably a great place to find space rocks, you can assume any rock siting ontop of ice or ontop of snow. didnt get there by natural erosion, so if you can count out animals or people, or rockslides from nearby hilltops, then it probably came from space! and is a nice bit of metal to work.

There is a flickr pool for this! :P  [ Wed May 1 2013 10:49 AM ]

A cluster of us locals, have worked on documenting the Urban murals, and even some of the more artistic graffiti. [link]

alot of these photos are geotagged so folks can come see them (if they still exist)

Use a Pan lid  [ Sun Apr 21 2013 1:02 PM ]

"so put a plate or some other barrier on top of the scraps to keep air out and put the lid back on the bucket."

If you go to the thrift store and buy a sauce pot lid with a knob handle in the middle, you can loosen the screw flip the lid over, and re attach the knob,(like if you wanted to use it as a childplay knight shield) now you have a tamper/barrier that you can easily pickup!

my guess.  [ Wed Mar 6 2013 2:03 PM ]

Well put!  [ Thu Jan 10 2013 4:03 PM ]

I do very much love some of the skillet dishes they have, you put it quite well in describing both the Ambiance and the food! First time in i was totally unsure what kind of food i would get (thinking i might get a Wisconsin wheel of cheese and a wink from the farmer daughter), And after the first visit it was on my list of good local mom and pop's.

Warning their stack of pan CAKES! is also a bit frightening, a short stack (2) is about 4"tall and the size of a large dinner plate. (or basically one layer in a standard sizes birthday cake)

Good review! Ropers is always on my list of places id go back to!  [ Thu Dec 13 2012 5:19 PM ]

I spend alot of time trying to find the "New" out there in our high turnover restaurant town. But when you cant find the new, or you just want something known good, its always good to have a list.

For mornings, my list would look like

Grandma's K&I

Ropers

Beralas Coffeehouse,

Mary & Titos

Loyolla's

and Miltons!

you will notice more than half are local diners.

A pleasure to meet you.  [ Thu Sep 6 2012 12:45 PM ]

Even if I only just now put 2 and two together, after reading your columns and articles quite often. And then only meeting you face to face for the first time last week.

If you pour as much of yourself into your future en-devours it will have no chance but to be fruitful.

Developers are as bad as lawyers  [ Tue Jun 14 2011 2:39 PM ]

Next on the chopping block, i hear the mayor will decide this month of the city/developer can knock down the historic house at Cornell and Silver.

Btw, i got some shots of the destruction at the aztec.

Caught them at the Press club a few weeks ago, quite enjoyed the whole set.

Her phone actually flew out the window when she did this. (yes she was talking and driving) [link]
