5 Broken Cameras
Emad Burnat, an ordinary Palestinian farmer from a rural Middle Eastern village took the titular devices (many broken by flying bullets) and used them to record five years' worth of West Bank protests. At first, just a chronicle of his growing family and the life around them, Burnat's footage took on a life of its own. In teaming up with Israeli filmmaker Guy Davidi, Burnat has created an intimate, deeply personal look at the irrational battle between Israel and Palestine. In Arabic and Hebrew with English subtitles.
90 minutes Unrated. (Opens Friday 6/22)
