The Dark Knight Rises

Director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale close out their operatic superhero trilogy with this apocalyptic finale. Bruce Wayne--burned-out, beaten and hoping to quit the crime-fighting business--is lured back into the Batsuit when a powerful new terrorist named Bane (Tom Hardy) attacks Gotham City. Some may say it's too long-winded and enamored of its own characters to properly move, but if you've admired what Nolan has done for the franchise up until now, this is an amazing capper. 164 minutes PG-13.
