Miami Connection

Once lost in the VHS discount bin of history, this long-forgotten, exploitation-era classic has been resurrected by the fine folks at Drafthouse Films. Shot on a shoestring budget, the 1987-set narrative follows the adventures of a synth-rocking, tai kwon do-kicking Miami band called Dragon Sound. When not performing their fist-pumping tunes, they're busy combatting evil ninja gangs running rampant through the Sunshine State. Director / star Grandmaster Y.K. Kim was a 9th degree black belt and a renowned inspirational speaker before making this, his one and only foray into action cinema. It must be seen to be believed. 83 minutes (Opens Friday 11/9)
