Polish director Agnieszka Holland (Europa Europa, The Secret Garden) tackles Robert Marshall's nonfiction book about a sewer worker who rescued Jewish refugees in the Nazi-occupied city of Lvov. Like most Holocaust dramas, this one's dark but ultimately redemptive. 145 minutes R.
