Love or Let Die—In theory, Valentine's Day can be the most joyful time of the year. In practice, it's usually a full-on psychological nightmare characterized by extreme levels of loneliness and torment. But you don't need to let it get you down. Show Cupid who's boss by entering the Alibi's Third Annual Valentine's Day Card Contest.
Break out the dried pasta and glue. Haul out the cardboard, scissors, tape and construction paper. Clip out naughty pictures from magazines. Apply every ounce from your creative reserves to the construction of the jiggiest Valentine's Day Card in the history of ever. There's got to be somebody out there worthy of your affection. We'll even allow cards for moms or pets or motorcycles, just so long as they're eye-poppin' creations of utter artistic brilliance.
The rules? Yes, there are rules. The card has to be two-dimensional, and it can't be any larger than 8.5 x 11 inches. We also have to receive it by Friday, Jan. 27, at 5 p.m. Submissions will not be returned.
Send your entries to Alibi's Third Annual Valentine's Day Card Contest, 2008 Central SE, #151, Albuquerque, N.M. 87106. The best submissions will be reproduced in our Feb. 9 issue. As always, the winners will receive a ton of gifts designed to spice up their sagging love lives. Get busy.
