Generation Y? More like Generation Y Don't You Get a Job, right? With their texting and MyFace-ing and their classical music. ... Wait. So string quartet Brooklyn Rider is a foursome of young lads who play everything from Haydn to jazz to Philip Glass? I see. Well, I hope you've all learned a valuable lesson about stereotypes. See the pigeonhole-busting group perform Friday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. at Downtown's Hotel Andaluz Ballroom (125 Second Street NW), presented by Chamber Music Albuquerque. Get your $30 tickets and more info at cma-abq.org.
Some Like It Haute
This Valentine's Day, dump the forced romance for something saucier. The Treehouse, 516 ARTS' monthly poetry event, switches things up a bit with an erotic open mic edition on Saturday, Feb. 13. The featured performer is none other than Dinah Frank, a femme fatale "famous for her obscurity." Frank, clothed in a bodice made of film, will read her love story to Jean Cocteau, titled "Dirt Cabaret: A Stainless Steel Love Story." Composer CK Barlow will provide the tunes—including selections from eFfeM (frequency modulation): Short Pieces for Vibrators & Radios—and the public is invited to share their own tales of lust and madness. Sign-up begins at 6:30 p.m., the open mic starts at 7 and Dinah Frank takes the stage at 8:30. It sounds just crazy enough to work. Go to 516arts.org for more.

Take reading to the 21st century (whatever that means) and visit the Digital Bookmobile. The Albuquerque / Bernalillo County Library System plays host to the traveling 74-foot long, 18-wheel tractor-trailer that's so high-tech, it makes KITT look like a skateboard. Decked out with Internet, high-def monitors, sound systems and portable media players, it's designed to allow visitors to learn about the library's download services. Step into future on Thursday, Feb. 11, at the Erna Fergusson Library (3700 San Mateo NE) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Log on to cabq.gov/library.
