Are you a great lover of literature? Do you have a special fondness for mysteries set in the Southwest? Or are you just a pompous egomaniac?
Whatever the case, you should consider forking out five bucks for Aimee and David Thurlo's Fame Your Name Raffle. Five lucky second place winners will receive autographed copies of the duo's recently released Wind Spirit, a new installment in their bestselling mystery series about the continuing exploits of Ella Clah, a special investigator for the Navajo Tribal Police.
The grand winner will have his or her name, legal or familiar, incorporated into two yet-to-be written Thurlo novels: White Thunder, the next Ella Clah installment, and Prey for a Miracle, a Sister Agatha novel, both scheduled for release next year. The winner will also have expenses paid for lodging with a guest in Albuquerque. The winner will also receive autographed copies of both novels and will have the honor of scarfing down dinner with the Thurlos.
Tickets are $5 or five for $20. The winner will be drawn on Friday, Oct. 1. If you win, there is absolutely no guarantee that your name will be used for a heroic character or a villain. You've been warned. The contest is sponsored by Crime Stoppers New Mexico. For details, log onto crimestoppersnm.org/
