Hidden giants of the hamburger family, Griff's burgers are as big as Blake's but less than half the cost. There's an unusual array of tempting menu options, but the burgers bring you back. Salad dressing is the default condiment and the "hot green chile" is actually diced jalapeños, but get a giant double cheeseburger with both on it. The shakes are similarly enormous here.

I haven’t eaten this much since my stoner days. This was my first (but not last) visit to Griff’s. I was trying to decide what to get when I saw the sign “GIANT TRIPLE BURGER COMBO” Under 7 bucks for a triple burger, large fries and a large soda. How could I resist. The fries were fries, shoestring style with nice crispiness. The drink, Diet Coke, gotta watch my calorie intake ya know. I really like the ice at Griff’s. It’s the really small kind of slushy type ice.

The giant triple burger was no joke. Bun, patty, cheese, patty, cheese, patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. Just the way I like it. From the first bite, I was in love. Each time I sank my teeth into this tower of deliciousness I came away with a juicy bite of burger. The patties were on the thinner side and in my experience thin patties tend to be kind of dry. Not these. The meat had a good taste. Not cardboardy like some places. When I finished the meal, I wanted more. Not because I was hungry really but because it was so good. I jokingly said I could eat another giant triple burger and of course my fellow men were more than happy to pony up the money to pay for a second giant triple burger for my consumption. I took that as a challenge and of course had to prove myself a man and took that bad boy out.

For those of you that enjoy a good burger, I would highly recommend Griff’s on Central at Wyoming. I have gone back with my son and after the meal he said I think I like Griff’s better than In-N-Out. That’s saying something. Maybe he just likes it better because we don’t have to drive 6 hours to get there.

    Definitely Gold Fork

  • Juicy charred burgers  [ Fri May 21 2010 1:38 PM ]

Pure deliciousness. The best fast food burger I've ever had. The burger is carmelized and juicy. I like to think they're grilled on an extra sizzling hot griddle.

And the munchers (deep fried tater tots injected with a bit of cheese and jalepeno) have a crispy texture that perfectly complements the burger.

I highly recommend. Don't let the location scare you off.

  • definitely one of my favorite burgers in town  [ Sun May 23 2010 12:47 PM ]

The biggest problem with Griff's is that sometimes it's so crowded you can't find a table. Thanks for reminding me I need to go there again, soon. I haven't been there in about a year, just because it's nowhere near anything for me.
