If you like your comfort food with a gourmet twist, it’s here. Nob Hill Bar and Grill boasts meatloaf (crowned with smoked bacon) and burgers (American kobe). Signature cocktails, a few vegetarian entrées, and a comfy but chic atmosphere make Nob Hill Bar and Grill a solid addition to the neighborhood. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

  • Boo!  [ Wed Oct 29 2008 4:57 PM ]

I recently dined here and it was terrible, service-wise. And, aside from once when this rad, sassy guy waited on us, this has been the case every time I've been to NHBG. Also, it's ridiculously overpriced for the amount and quality of (bar) food. Unless they get organized and less expensive, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they don't stick around, threatening to ruin another one of my nights.

I hope you aren't talking about the dude that waited on us when we went. He thought he could charm us out of realizing that he was a bad server. Plus that time when we went we were still hungry after having $12 salads. I mean come on, if the salad is over $10 it should have filled us up. Right? The margaritas were good...

  • Yes, I am...  [ Thu Oct 30 2008 4:18 PM ]

My favorite part was when he denied us our check when we asked for it. We tried to get the hell out of there for a fucking hour! I'm not even exagerating.

  • I don't understand...  [ Thu Oct 30 2008 4:26 PM ]

the hype, it was not a great visit for me. The only thing that saved it was my beautiful date distracting me from the marginal food.

  • yeah!  [ Fri Oct 31 2008 2:04 PM ]

The atmosphere is pretty cool there though.

I like the huge, mod, wooden door. But not the televisions.

  • I like it  [ Sun Nov 2 2008 3:45 PM ]

I won't dispute the above's probably just a matter of preference...but I think it's great. At lunch, it's reliably good and the staff is friendly. I've never had a full dinner, but drinks and apps have always been spot-on.

  • NHB&G can suck it  [ Fri Jun 19 2009 12:11 PM ]

happy hour last friday was a total deal-breaker.

carded at the door, carded AGAIN at the table, then advised by the server she's not allowed to serve me. because the bartender told her "not to". on the basis of what, she can't explain. I was literally in the place for two minutes. went straight to the girls' room then sat down w/ friends. yet I can't be served. maybe because I was stumbling all over the place? maybe because I spilled all over my shirt? or maybe it was because my eyes were totally & completely bloodshot?? no, actually. not any one of those things. I know I probably sound like a raging alcoholic (serve me, SERVE ME!) but seriously, I had ONE fruitbasket at Kelly's beforehand and was nowhere near drunk. I honestly think the server didn't like me being a smartass about being carded twice. still, c'mon now. just be a smartass right back. don't take it personal. and turn away legit business? na.

oh and before we took our money elsewhere, I witnessed security throwing a guy out because he went "wooooooo!". seriously. okay, yes it was fairly loud. but, um..isn't that what a bar is for?

so visit NHB&G but be sure NOT to exhibit any form of sarcasm and/or mild excitement and I suppose you'll have a blast.

  • Overpriced drinks  [ Fri Jun 19 2009 12:25 PM ]

and a bunch of lame people is the impression I got from going there once. No thanks.

  • Worst service in town,  [ Fri Aug 20 2010 7:08 PM ]

seriously. I once waited an hour and fifteen minutes for a beer to arrive at my table. By the time it finally came, I was ready to go and actually considered running out on the (rather large) tab in order to avoid the 45 minute wait for my check.

  • Scrumptious Kobe burger  [ Tue Dec 14 2010 2:15 PM ]

Juicy and delicious. And I think they have a Kobe dog as well. Whoa.
