When you enter La Casita in Bernalillo, you’re greeted with a pair of chile-shaped chalkboards announcing the strengths of the red and green that day. And if they say something is hot at La Casita, they mean it. Posole, tamales (green-chile chicken or red-chile pork) in sweet masa, enchiladas—it’s all down-home and bueno . To go along with La Casita’s New Mexican offerings, there’s even a New Mexican wine list. Or if staying in is on the menu, La Casita’s family-size takeout is one of the best bargains going.
