A couple weeks ago, we received an e-mail from a reader, asking us for a favor. He said, “As a loyal reader I count on getting some local news coverage from your paper ... but ... would you please do an article on the current representatives we have in Washington D.C. letting us know what their voting records are.” That, we can do. But a whole article really isn't necessary, as there are several online resources that can give you all the information you need. To all you government watchdogs out there: This is for you.

For the voting records, biographies, campaign finances, issue positions, public statements and more on all your representatives, check out Vote-Smart.org [link].

To track campaign contributions for your state and representative, go to Opensecrets.org [link].

Lastly, if you're interested in tracking lobbyist spending, Opensecrets.org has a great site for that as well [link].

If I've missed something, e-mail me at christie@alibi.com and I'll add it to the list.
