The first weekend of May comes a blustering in.

A Knight of Curious Musics

The Blue Dragon is not currently in operation (again), so Norm ("the throat-singing swamp monster"), Carlosaur ("the genre-juggling rollercoaster funk man") and Eva Ave. ("funeral washboard pirate gospel") will perform at the VERB Collective (3400 Constitution NE) tonight instead. The show starts at 7 p.m. and is $3 at the door. 268-2344.

Oh My, Orchids

The Rio Grande Botanic Garden plays host to the New Mexico Orchid Guild's spring show this weekend, which includes workshops, lectures and projects focused on the fantastic flower. For more details, check out the Biopark's Website.

For the Tamarind

To raise funds for its new digs, the Tamarind Institute is hosting an online auction with crazy cool stuff like original art work, private lessons with a master printer and vacation packages. View the auction items here.

The Laramie Project

St. John's College and the Tectonic Theater Project present The Laramie Project this Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, to benefit the Santa Fe Rape Crisis and Trauma Treatment Center. For details, check the flyer.
