The Act You've Known For All These Years

Paul McCartney announced over the weekend that there's a 14-minute unreleased Beatles' track he wants to put out. “Carnival of Light,” was recorded in 1967.

McCartney needs permission from Ringo Starr and the widows of George Harrison and John Lennon to release the track. One Guardian blog insists that The Beatles' legacy is already more than enough, and the song shouldn't be released.

Also up for debate is the distribution route for the track—The Beatles' music is usually not available online.
