Have you ever met anybody famous?
They paraded down the aisle at the 66 Casino when I went for my birfday last year and I touched the only 2 hot guys. Does that count?
Also, I used to work for a movie theater in Greeley, Colorado which is where the grandparents of Beans from Even Stevens live. He walked out of the theater when I was holding the door and I had to double take. The next day he was taking pics and signing autographs.
Was that potato-in-crotch enhanced Leif, or just regular ole teenage heartthrob Leif?
My fair share of athletes/musicians/etc, but none more awesome than Todd McFarlane (Spawn creator, action figure pioneer et al) at a car show when I was a wee little tot. He called me a "cute kid" and hooked me up with two rare Spawn comics and a Hot Wheels Spawnmobile, all signed by the man himself.
He used to go to the episcopal church, St. Michael's and all Angels, that my mother made me attend in my youth.
Is it just me, or does Leif Garrett look Kinda like Linda Hamilton ala "Terminator" in that photo?
Horatio Sanz when I lived in Chicago. He's a friend of a friend. He was nice.
And Saul Williams at the Launchpad. He was super nice.
And Mini Pearl in Nashville when I was a kid. She was a weird lady.
And Henry Rollins outside of the Highland Theater.
I gave him a carnation for his birthday.
I met her at the Levis' store I was working at a couple of years ago.
Who was that girl who played in Because of Wynn Dixie. I met her in a hat shop here in Albuquerque. Although we weren't formally introduced, she recommended hats to my boyfriend, and I knew it was her because I just saw the movie like 2 hours prior.
And then I work out at the same gym as a bunch of famous fighters. Sometimes, famous fighters who train elsewhere come in just to experience Jackson's camp. The one person I wish I had met when he was in town: Roger Huerta. I was slacking that week. damn.
I like that picture...Lol.
I never see anyone famous when I go to ABQ Kickboxing. :[
Soon enough. I here that place keeps growing. Also, I know there are a couple of guy from Jackson's who cross trains.
place. He's a sweetheart. I take some classes there and there is always more people! Way fun though. I love it.
Speaking of famous people at Jackson's, my roommate met George St. Pierre there. He said that was the first time he was ever "star struck." Then he got to spar with him, and was literally star struck.
I see GSP there every so often, but I never get to spar with him. Although, I'm not sure I'd want to.
I met Brooke Shields.
Also, Hillary Clinton at a book signing (her hands were small).
I stood in line beside Matthew Perry at LAX back when Friends was still big, but I was too cool to actually bother the celeb. I'm stupid.
might as well learn from the best, right?
But when they're that much better than I am, I always feel guilty for not being able to help them improve their game. You know what I mean?
But as your sempai, isn't it their duty to help you along the path? And don't underestimate yourself. Shunryu Suzuki says "there are many possibilities in the mind of the beginner, but to the professional there is only one." By trying new and unexpected things you are helping his game.
I met Neal Patrick Harris at a Popejoy party.
I've had coffee in the Frontier with Henry Rollins (Black Flag) and Peter Hollsapple (dB's).
I've met David Pirner (Soul Asylum) and the Kirkwood bros (Meat Puppets).
I've met Bill Daly (I Dream of Jeannie)and Sean William Scott (American Pie)
I've met Alan Holdsworth.
I've met Robert Creeley.
I've met Ray Nitschke (Green Bay Packers)
more as I think of them and as they occur
at whole foods off the i-40 & carlyle, my friend NEENA and myself met Common-the MC from Chicago. In town filming transformers2 i believe... Well anyways I got in line behind him, but he forgot something so got out of line(at this point I was skeptical and didn't think it was him) We followed him to the back of the store and accosted him. "You're Not Common, Are You?" I charged him with... "Yes I am" says he, and I proceed to geek out.
I made him listen to me rapping(he was very nice about that) and then I asked him to sign a $20, which he did. It is hanging framed on my wall it says: God Is Good, Love To Fred, Common" with a peace sign under his sig. Neena just said what up to him.
Me and Neena still when we talk to each other-we're all like-"AYO WE MET COMMON!!!"
Yes I have Met Someone Famous in the 505 ABQ
Omg, I'm so jealous. :[
I love his character in "How I Met Your Mother". He's awesome.
It's hard to get out of that mindset though. Especially when you know they've got fights coming up.
when I was 4 or 5. I was a big fan of The A-Team.
used to housesit for the Eagles. I guess they were neighbors or something?
His son lived here and was my neighbor. Tony came to visit and I got his autograph.
Andre the Giant - holy shit he was big
Lonesome Dave (Foghat)
The singer from Flock of Seagulls
Annabella Lwin... Refused my marriage proposal!!
Wendy O Williams
Adam West and Burt Ward
Does being yelled at "Piss Off!" by Lemmy count?
and a bunch of old country stars when I was a kid from my aunt's big C&W place in michigan.
He was the bomb
Once I was hanging out at a friend's house and he got a call. My friend stayed on the phone for like 45 minutes. When he got off the phone, who was it? Fucking Tony Danza trying to hunt down a mutual friend. I guess he's a nice guy. Gives good phone.
completely in love with Neil Patrick Harris since I was a little boy, and ever since he came out I have been trying to meet him so I can seduce him.... However for some reason, this is turning out to be harder than it originally seemed.
But, since I work in film, I have met a whole slew of "famous" people. Such as Kevin Klein, Mario Lopez, Eric Estrada, Tempestt Bledsoe, John Goodman, Chris Pine, Piper Perabo, Lena Headey, Steve Buscemi, Sarah Silverman, Helen Miren, Joe Pesci, Maynard James Keenan, Sean Lennon, blah b;lah blagh.......
This reminds me of this Chavez blog from 2007:
and he was a great guy.
He kind of flipped out the next time he was at the Launchpad and chased some kid with a harmonica out of the bar.
I've had bad days, too. I'm still a fan.
That guy from The Specials (he tried to get me to go on his bus)
And, though we weren't introduced, I have a scar on my finger from Perry Farrell.
Edward James Olmos
Holmes Osborne (I went to school with his kids)
I once met the man who shook the hand of Andy Griffith.
Andy Griffith's mummified hand on eBay and wiggled it across Meredith Baxter Birney's neck.
Here in Burque I've met Neal Patrick Harris and Kim Bassinger in aerobics classes. She's in better shape than he is.
I met Ted Nugent in the woods bowhunting.
I lived in Las Vegas NV for 5 yrs in the early 80s, worked as an aerobics instructor/personal trainer when I wasn't guarding the little green men who aren't little, aren't green, and aren't at Area 51. Met lottsa famous people in the gyms and clubs. Mr. T before he got fat, Sylvester Stallone before he became a joke. Ben Vereen was a dancin' machine... too many more to list.
Have also met/guarded some famous people/groups when they were traveling and entertaining the troops. The Pointer Sisters were my favorites.
When J Lo was in town making "Bordertown", one of the techs crawled out from under a desk and found himself on his knees in front of her. He almost said to her "in my dreams, it the other way 'round"...
Met Martin Sheen on that set for the second time. I arrested him once yrs ago during a demonstration at the Nevada Test Site, but he didn't remember me.
For a time I was issued a black suit and flew in black helicopters. I've met lottsa people who don't remember me. Heck, I've mets lottsa people I don't remember...
punk bands famous then I have met a lot of famous people. Jerry Only hung out with me when our band played with the Misfits and I got drunk with Vinnie Stigma and Roger Miret a couple times. I also met Nick Brown...my hands still has not been washed since he shook my hand!
famous people in my life but I can't recall any that especially impressed me.
