Free HIV Testing Today

The Centers for Disease Control estimated last year that there had been a 40 percent increase in HIV infections nationwide. New Mexico accounts for .3 percent of the national total of AIDS cases.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation is traveling to hard hit regions of the United States on a 14-city tour to raise awareness. The mobile unit provides testing, counseling and results in one session.

Today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. the AHF/Magic Johnson Testing Van will be on the Fourth Street Mall. But even if you don’t make it down there today, you can always get tested at New Mexico AIDS Services. The tests are “saliva-based and completely painless and bloodless,” according to their site.

National HIV Testing Day is Saturday, June 27,
