On the hunt for cheap yoga in Albuquerque

Grassroots Yoga answers the age-old question: What’s up dog?

Two of my (and likely your) 2012 resolutions are to get in better shape and be more frugal. I’m hoping to make a dent in both by taking advantage of new-student specials and cheap drop-in classes at local yoga studios. This is what I’ve found from cruising around online ... if you know of any others, do tell!

Bhava Yoga Studio: $35 / first two weeks. $6 ongoing drop-in classes.

Bikram Hot Yoga: $25 / first two weeks

Blissful Spirits Hot Yoga: $35 / first month

Body Balance Yoga: $5 ongoing drop-in classes

Body Language (yoga, Pilates and Barre classes): $45 / first month, but sign up is only through 1/31

Grassroots Yoga: $35 / first month. $5 ongoing drop-in classes

Hot Yoga Downtown: $29 / first month

Sani Yoga: $5 ongoing drop-in classes

  • thanks for sharing about these studios; here's another great yoga option  [ Mon Jan 16 2012 3:41 PM ]

Yahoo for yoga deals. We have yoga at Studio Sway, which is at Lomas and San Mateo (we're downstairs underneath where Mama's Minerals is). Drop in is $10, but with class cards and specials, the per class price comes down a lot. The nice thing about a class card is that it encourages a person to keep coming and build a steady practice. For Siobhan's M and W 4:15 p.m. class, drop in for students is $5. If it's your first time taking yoga at Studio Sway, tell Siobhan that you read here that you could try the first class for free -- we'll call it the Weekly Alibi special. Caroline Collins teaches F 4:15 p.m., Th 7 pm and Sunday at 10:45 a.m. and she's got specials and deals on class cards, too. Studio Sway is a barefoot studio for Nia and dance arts, and our atmosphere is casual, open, and fun. The emphasis in all classes, Nia and yoga, is for students to learn about their bodies and sense their bodies as they move so they know just how much to push and just how much to go easy.
