Too many people think if they have a camera and can get an image that makes them a videographer.

The gatekeepers of 27 allow pretty much anything to air because its public access. There needs to be some sort of minimum standard for the programs so they will be taken seriously. And I'm not even talking content. Just the basics of production. (Lighting is not illumination; audio is not watching the meter move.)

Perhaps there could be classes in video production given by the powers that be at public access, followed by a simple, very simple test. It's not brain surgery.

Having seen a field production by Encantada, I think their standards will be high and I wish them the best of luck.
