Those of us who know Mahassen and those of us listening to the tragic news from Lebanon, we share our common thought and focus on the safety and well-being of Mahassen Shukry. We say to our Congressional delegation, open your ears and hear our words. Those non-combatants stuck in the midst of this conflict need help and deserve the efforts of our government in their behalf. Mahassen and her family, Nidhal and Ziad, we offer our assistance as we can and further ask our elected officials at all levels to use their influence to bring Mahassen and her family in Lebanon to safety. And let's begin to recognize that there will be no peace in the Middle east until all parties cease hostilities. The US government can either play a role in getting this to happen or it can stand by and watch the devastation replayed once again destroying the future for Lebanese, Israelis and Palestinians.
