I still can't get over Demme's ultimate remake of Michael Mann's 1986 thriller "Manhunter" with William Petersen (CSI) as the FBI agent played by Jodie Foster in Demme's 'Silence of the Lambs'. Some scenes were actually refilmed vebatum! "Manhunter was a superior film I thought, but Demme somehow impressed the members of the Motion Picture Arts & Sciences because they rewarded his remake with an Oscar.
