I never miss a Hendren solo show, and I'm never disappointed. She's as smart as she is funny as she is sensitive, and always a revelation.
Yesterday a parking cop walked right by my partner as she was gardening just a few feet away from our car. She had to ask him, "Can I help you?" to get him to make eye contact as he made a beeline to our vehicle. Turns out we can't park *in our own driveway* because (due to the house's previous owner expanding the house into the garage) the driveway is truncated. By parking in our driveway, we block the sidewalk. I realize that's a problem. But we live on a corner in a neighborhood where wee-hour joyriding is apparently a rite of passage, meaning the car is super-vulnerable every time a drunk 12-year-old rounds the corner. Plus we've had 2 car break-ins and had our car graffiti'd. So we want to protect it. But... we can't park in our driveway. How about starting with the people who broke into our car, or the ones who graffiti'd it? Or maybe == okay, this is crazy talk -- the ones who broke into our house? |
