How is this video different from when Gwen "borrowed" Japanese culture during her solo run?

It seems to me nothing more than a pop-art interpretation of old-west culture. And part of America's old-west culture is the subjugation of Native Americans. But the video doesn't go too indepth regarding America's 2nd greatest shame.

The story of this video is simple: Natives have a conflict with Cowboys, two 'natives' get captured, the male is able to throw a tomahawk and free the girl. Its not commenting on anything.

I think the question is how sensitive people can be about art, not on whether No Doubt was being racist or not. You have to see the video in the context of what it is saying. I think the people making a fuss over this video probably never heard No Doubt before, and probably aren't very art-literate either.

We already have a large group of people in the world who will mark you for death if you disrespect their prophet, and I don't see much pop-art music videos regarding their subject. Fortunately, the Native American tribes aren't extremeists.
