CommentsRe: Talking Points: Where do New Mexico’s congressmen stand on repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell?
Thoughts about repealing DADT [ Wed Jun 16 2010 12:05 PM ]
I'm so happy to see all our congressman in this state supporting getting rid of DADT. It is discriminatory, should have never been put into effect in the first place. I am a veteran of the military and that's one of the reasons, amongst other I chose to leave the service before I was kicked out based on my sexuality. I've even been confronted about my sexuality while I was in based on rumors from other people. Of course I denied it but I shouldn't have been made to feel I had to lie in the first place, I didn't want to be kicked out especially for those reasons. I just hope when it is done away with that the LGBT service members also get the right to have the same benefits as their "straight" counterparts that come along with being married such as housing, COLA, BAL, etc. I can see where that will be just another issue but it needs to be addressed, it's reality. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Presidents and other politicians saying they will do everything they can to get this repealed and then it never happens. We're all different and diverse and we should "love thy neighbor" irregardless of sex, race, creed, sexual preference etc. Just get over it already! Re: Tucanos
Second thoughts.... [ Mon Mar 29 2010 12:52 AM ]
Was thinking about going before a movie this weekend cuz it's right near the theater but don't see any great reviews here....hmmmm. Has anyone been that loved it. Sounded good when I read it in the Alibi. Well, I've heard and read bad reviews about stuff before and checked it out for myself and loved it. I think I'll check it out and see for myself. You know what they have about opinions.... Then, I'll give my own, honest review of the overall experience; ambiance, food, service, cleanliness, etc. like a professional review that folks can get a better sense of the place from. |
