Interesting - I always thought that the kitchen at Indian Pueblo Cultural Center had promise but wasn't quite inspiring me. This might be the thing that frees up their creativity.

Very excited to go check it out....

Olympia in the heights - nice  [ Fri Jun 25 2010 1:57 PM ]

I'd heard there was a connection between this place and Olympia. Fantastic.

great little find - thank you!  [ Fri Jun 18 2010 4:43 PM ]

Believe it or not, I have to watch the ads or find a workaround myself - to read my own articles.

But I appreciate each and every one of you that jumps through hoops if you are indeed reading my scribblings.

Doughnut  [ Sat Apr 10 2010 6:00 PM ]

Erin,

Check out the shop up on Eubank - Enchantment Chocolates. Their daily buttermilk cake donuts are freakin' amazing. Super deep-fried to a crispy crunch.

Nice  [ Wed Feb 10 2010 9:58 AM ]

Good job on 'outing' Poncho for not reading between the lines. ;-)

Yes, there are more steakhouses...  [ Mon Dec 14 2009 10:06 AM ]

...but Gruet was pretty darn good. They also have a sashimi appetizer that was killer.

And Paul's is just not the same vibe as Gruet.

But we have Marcello's, Savoy, and Rancher's for the over-the-top experience. And Monte Carlo, Paul's, the Brasserie, and several others for just darn good steaks.

Alibi & Range linked for-evah  [ Mon Dec 7 2009 3:12 PM ]

Don't forget, the lauded writer Jason Sheehan who penned lovely reviews for the Alibi in the early part of this decade used to be a grill cook at the Range.

Yep. It's all in his book - a good read for most foodies, and edge-of-your-seat for his fans.

Cooking Dirty, the book.

sorry about the inconsistency...  [ Fri Jul 17 2009 2:04 PM ]

But... I think Mannie's is one of the underappreciated awesome diners in this town. Great food, old-school waitresses, and drinkable coffee.

Scalo  [ Tue Apr 28 2009 10:15 AM ]

Last time I had one at Scalo it was pretty freakin' good.

And, the tableside one at Rancher's Club, if they still do it that way - cracking the raw egg in front of you and everything. Perfect.

raisins!  [ Fri Mar 13 2009 4:18 PM ]

Awesome, Maren!

I think the raisins are key - they probably elevate the loaf from actual strange sawdust-tasting stuff to "hey, that's sort of interesting" fare.
