because none of their customers care that they are supporting one of the most criminally irresponsible entities on the planet every time they buy their sweatshop-made status symbols. Corporations don't care about their negative environmental and social impact until it affects their bottom line. Since most of their customers are oblivious to the cause and effect relationships inherent in buying their crap, NIKE will continue to screw over their workers, the planet and anyone else they want in order to sell $6 worth of plastic for $100+ .
BECAUSE they have some outlet/refuge from the everyday blather that gets into our every single pore and wrings out what life there is left in us. The trick is sticking to moderation. ...oh, and not getting slipped a mickey,

and almost ALL of their -ahem- "hits" are rip-offs .
because there are people that look at her and believe that her prideful ignorance and arrogant sense of entitlement make her their counterpart in the political realm. There are also people that believe that all of the universe's complex life forms and natural processes were created in less than a week by an all-knowing (though vindictive) bearded white guy in the sky that can hear and see everything you think, say and do. So, in other words-  people ARE stupid.
