Galileo Galilei: Message from the Stars
Galileo Galilei, Italian physicist, mathematician and astronomer, is perhaps best known for his improvements to the telescope. You might also be familiar with his once-controversial support of the idea that our planet is round. But did you know that he fathered two daughters out of wedlock? Or that he deemed them unfit for marriage before sending them away to be nuns? Learn more about the very full life of this revolutionary 16th-century figure, and find out what made his theories so contentious tomorrow at ¡Explora! Theater's one-act play, "Galileo Galilei: Message from the Stars." Sunday's shows run about half an hour, and visitors are invited to stick around afterward to ask questions and talk with the performers. So compile all of your queries about pendulums, planets and heresy and spend an afternoon with the father of modern science. ¡Explora! • $4-$8 • explora.us
