Lavender, Sweet Lavender

Via Wikimedia

What's all this talk about lavender? First of all, it's gorgeous. Secondly it's a reminder that the summer is upon us. And what better way to celebrate than an Herb and Lavender Fair. An event like this allows you to peruse the various flora that make New Mexico a vibrant home to the natural wonders of the world. Well, that and its open skies. Gotta love those. The fair happens at El Rancho de las Golondrinas (334 Los Pinos Rd.) in Santa Fe, so you not only get to smell the sweet smells of natural remedies, but you can also appreciate the Desert Southwest in all its glory. Experience some garden tours, talks, hands-on activities and products tomorrow and Sunday, June 22, from 10am to 4pm both days. Admission to the lavender-ific get-together is $8 (general admission), $6 (teens and seniors) and free for kiddies 12 and under. You get a whiff of that? That's the summer calling your name. Don't miss it. El Rancho de las Golondrinas, Santa Fe • Sat Jun 21 • 10am-4pm • $6-$8, FREE for children 12 and under • View on Alibi calendar
