The Boys Are Back: Dropkick Murphys at Sunshine

A visit from Dropkick Murphys makes tomorrow night a prime occasion to get rowdy with your mates at Sunshine Theater (120 Central SW). The Celtic punk band from Massachusetts has a full Irish sound, complete with bagpipes, tin whistles, banjos, bodhran, mandolins, harmonicas, bouzoukis and all the other normal Irish rock accoutrements. Their two top singles, “Tessie” and “I'm Shipping Up to Boston,” are sure to make the set list along with songs from their latest outing Signed and Sealed in Blood.

With an iconic sound and lyrics emoting that distinctively Irish blend of joy and sorrow, love and irreverence, it's gonna be a grand evening, with promises from “Out of Our Heads,” “We're gonna cause a riot, we're gonna rip it up/ We're gonna storm the gates, this place is going up.” Founding member Ken Casey's gravely sound will make you “get up, get up and get with the music.” These gents are known for their fun, energetic concerts, so it's bound to get moshy. By the end of the show, they may have you singing along, “It's the end, end of the night/ But we ain't goin' home.” Joined by Blood or Whiskey and Bryan McPherson, the drop-kick-off starts at 8pm. Tickets are going for 29 green ones (no, not four-leaf clovers). Sunshine Theater • Thu Nov 13 • 8pm • $29 • ALL-AGES! • View on Alibi calendar
