Rockin' & Rebuilding

Concert for Nepal

Courtesy of The Greater Himalayas Foundation

There's nothing better than listening to talented local bands and supporting a great cause. Burque groups Breaking Blue, Goat White, Kevin Herig and Lost Howlin' Coyotes are joining together on Saturday, June 27, at Covenant Presbyterian Church (9315 Candelaria NE) to raise money for The Mountain Fund, a nonprofit organization with a program aimed at earthquake relief and rebuilding. Musical sounds will range from Celtic-tinged folk to bluesy pop-rock to old-time Southern mountain music. There will be two stages, one indoor and one outdoor, so folks are invited to bring picnics, blankets and camp chairs for the lawn. Covenant is looking to build on the $7,500 they have already raised to support disaster relief in Nepal. Supporting your fellow human beings across the world will cost you a mere $10-$25 for a ticket. The tunes will last from 5 to 9:30pm, and all proceeds from this all-ages event will be put toward rebuilding the towns of Mankhu and Goganpani. Amen!
