Sunday, Apr 3: Pickleball Clinic

via compfight

Bro, do you even pickleball? Or better yet, do you even know WTF pickleball is? For your edification, it is a cross between ping-pong, tennis and badminton, and according to NBC it's sweeping the nation! Played on a smaller version of a tennis court, four players swat a wiffle ball over a net with small paddles. If this sounds like the sport for you, show up at Ventana Ranch Park on Sunday, April 3, from 9am-1pm for a Pickleball Clinic that includes training from two of the top pickleball players in the world, Jim and Yvonne Hackenberg.

Join the more than 150,000 people who enjoy the fine art of a well played volley, dink or lob. The Burque chapter of the New Mexico Pickleball Association is expecting a large turn out so in order to be the smartest person in attendance, here's a tip: It's called pickleball not because the founder's dog was named Pickles, but because, in the sport of rowing, a "pickled boat" has a mixed crew, just like pickleball is a mix of sports.
