Monday, Oct 10: Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration

What does it mean to be Indigenous? For some Americans, it's a textbook term and nothing more. But for many more Americans, it is part of their identity and describes their root ancestry prior to colonialism. How do you relate to this important concept? On Monday, Oct. 10, students of the Native American Community Academy will share their perspectives on what it means to be Indigenous through age-old traditions in an all-day celebration at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Stories, songs and dances will be performed in the courtyard to celebrate the continent's history as told be those who trace their heritage back to ancient times. The event is open to all and is included with the regular $8 museum admission. Indian Pueblo Cultural Center • Mon Oct 10 • 9am-5pm • $0-$9 • ALL-AGES! • View on Alibi calendar
