"volunteer ministers", claiming to use the power of touch to reconnect nervous systems.

I use that line all the time. I only get arrested.

one football game on yesterday. What's up with the Saints homerism lately, anyways?

  • wacky scientologists?!  [ Mon Jan 25 2010 11:44 AM ]

Without body thetans, there probably wouldn't have ever been deal with the devil in the first place, and therefore no earthquake. Phones and medical treatment are no substitute for e-meters and personality tests.

  • No earthquake, perhaps.  [ Mon Jan 25 2010 11:58 AM ]

Though thetans, historically, have had problems with volcanoes.

  • Berry's war on property crime  [ Mon Jan 25 2010 12:21 PM ]

is exciting, though not nearly as anticipated as the upcoming War on Fades. Barbers with a 'z' in the name, beware.

  • Newspaper Photos  [ Mon Jan 25 2010 12:31 PM ]

I guess it doesn't harm anything to try printing photos of suspected property criminals, but are there any official statistics on how effective this is in curtailing DWI offenders?

This city has so, so many shitty areas and such a tremendous amount of crime, it seems a proclaimed "War on Property Crime" should echo more than a resounding "We'll print your picture in the newspaper!"

  • I thought the property crime photo campaign  [ Mon Jan 25 2010 1:38 PM ]

was a refreshing, if symbolic, break from the usual DWI yearbook. It sent a message that property crime is considered at least as seriously as DWI. Maybe I'll never get my truck or my stereos back, but I appreciate the acknowledgement that crimes other that DWI are still crimes.

  • A step in the right direction  [ Mon Jan 25 2010 2:51 PM ]

for sure. At least Berry seems that he's more than willing to confront Albuquerque's crime problem head-on, as opposed to sweeping it under the "Q"-shaped rug as if it didn't exist a la King Marty.

Those were some nice people in Eyam.
