Anti-war demonstration tomorrow near UNM
Gen. Ray Odierno promised in 2009 that the U.S. would be completely out of Iraq by the end of this year. Though NPR raised the question of whether that will actually be the case. Either way, this weekend marks the eighth year since we invaded the country.
Local activists have organized a protest that will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, near University and Central. The march will pass by Lockheed Martin and end up at a rally on Civic Plaza.
Demonstrators will be calling for the United States to leave Iraq and Afghanistan immediately. They’d also like to make sure our country does not wage war in Libya. For more info, call 268-2488.
