Then you get to the part which is I assume what GP found funny (ie ridiculous)- the author is wondering if the access to twitter and texting is making oversexed males completely out of control. Luring them to make decisions they wouldn't have otherwise. Basically she's trying to argue that hi-tech communications in conjunction with easy access to porn is causing men to make bad judgement calls.

Look lady, self absorbed idiots are self absorbed idiots with or without technology. ie, Weiner got caught because he was a power hungry narcissist who thought he was invincible. Access to porn and twitter didn't turn him into this, it just made it easier to show the world his true colors.
