  • Alibi reporter arrested???  [ Wed Oct 26 2011 10:43 AM ]

Andrew Beale was arrested at Occupy Burque last night for disorderly conduct. Does he still work for you?

  • Yes, Andy freelances for us.  [ Wed Oct 26 2011 11:54 AM ]

Andy started covering Occupy Albuquerque for us (after reporting on other issues for the paper). He followed the movement closely, then became involved in it. He then wrote op-ed/feature type stuff with an insider's perspective.

I'll have an op-ed by him up shortly that was written before yesterday's events. I don't see his name when I search for inmates on the BCMDC site, so I can't confirm whether he's been arrested.

  • I just spoke with him.  [ Wed Oct 26 2011 12:05 PM ]

He was arrested. The protesters are being released right now, and they didn't have to pay bail for the most part.

He's getting some rest, and then he'll tell us all about it with an opinion piece to be posted on our blog later on.

To be clear, I have not participated in (Un)occupy Albuquerque and covered the ongoing events once Andy couldn't do it anymore.
