Texas chicken farmer Carroll Shelby died last week. Oh, he also designed some of the most overpowered cars ever: Mustangs and their meaner bastard English cousin the Cobra.
The brief rain was instructive. We New Mexicans don't see enough of it. The area was brimming with clouds, lightning and wind. I got to the package store one minute late and got wet running in. It's attached to a popular restaurant and when the deluge began, all the employees from both sides poured out among me and other stranded customers. The ionization of the atmosphere and wetness of the air exhilirated everyone and the camraderie was awesome. We stood on the sidewalk and marveled at the enormous raindrops and Nature's infrequent gift to us. All classes and colors of folks enjoyed each other and the spectacle. God Bless!
