    Liberals read the 2A conservatively, and Conservatives read it liberally. Liberals think the states should control guns but not abortions, Conservatives think the states should control abortions but not guns.

    The Left used "emanations" and "penumbras" to find a right to privacy not mentioned in the constitution to protect another right not mentioned: abortion. The Right found a right to self defense and used it to protect the right to keep and bear ams. They are fighting each others fire w fire.

    In Heller the court said the IIA speaks to an individual right not limited to service in the militia. It said you can put reasonable restrictions on arms in common use but not ban them, and that some controls were off the table. Now the courts will be busy for yrs ruling on what is reasonable, what is on/off the table.

    Until the 4 get a 5th vote to overturn Heller and McDonald, stare decisis be damned!
