Hey all you snow fiends!

Have you been up to Ski Santa Fe, yet? The mountain is 28 percent open with five out of seven lifts running. They are working with a base depth of 24 inches and got eight new inches in the last seven days!

I cruised up to the City Different yesterday, and I have to tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. The roads were less than stellar (C'mon, Santa Fe, if Colorado can clear their roads, you can certainly clear yours.), but careful driving on the black-ice bits delivered us safely to the top. Once there, I expected ice, wind and dirt. Instead, I was met with clear blue skies, warm sun (like to the point of wearing almost nothing under my coat) and white slopes. The snow was a bit compacted but still fluffy enough to dig in with the edge of your board. The lift lines were a bit slow with the surprising number of winter sport enthusiasts there on a Wednesday, but every single employee was friendly and helpful.
Back at the bottom of the mountain, to top off an already groovy day, I grabbed a Lotaburger with seasoned fries on my way through town. There's nothing like green chile, cheese and grease to bolster your energy after a day of carving up the snow.

All around, it was another great day shreddin' in the Land of Enchantment. Stay gnarly, my friends. #skibueno
