Here at the Weekly Alibi, the Oxford comma is sometimes the subject of hot, nerdy debate. This illustration makes a compelling point about the controversial punctuation. The Oxford comma: Are you for it, against it ... or indifferent?
Make someone write a compiler for the language. Whatever dialect they can implement, call that the new spec.
Because I'm a minimalist,(ie lazy) I say no to the unnecessary comma!
..you'd say no to the conjunction instead. So many people are gunning for that poor little harmless comma, while a big fat word is just sitting there.
The word isn't so loved that it's ok invite strippers and jfk and stalin. But if you invite strippers, jfk, stalin then the word screams "punctuation took my job!"
I'm marching forward with your suggestion!
(Which should really just read marching, as adding forward is redundant. There, another time saver!)
