At least, the Alibi hopes they're pretend. Because no one should outlaw Don Schrader's booty shorts. Our official editorial policy is firmly in favor of those shorts. Anonymous sources confirm: The other apparel option is nekkidness.

I just got off the phone with APD spokesperson Trish Hoffmann. She says the department is looking into a different fake account that was trying to pass itself off as the real thing: AbqPoliceDept. The account has been taken down, and it wasn't satirical. Instead, says Hoffman, it was an impostor.
APD is also looking into a guy on Craigslist who is posing as an officer to try and get dates, she says. He wears a blue uniform and shows his badge and patch, but the patch is not APD's.
People should be wary of potentially fake police, Hoffmann says.
