![]() ![]() | Food for thought, Downtown![]() The gyro sandwich at Doner Kebab House For the past several weeks, I've been addicted to the Mediterranean pita sandwiches Mehmet Kokangul serves up at the Doner Kebab House in the Central Market (408 Central SW). But today the grillmaster stepped up his game. His newly-added gyro sandwich is one of the best I've ever had (and we have some pretty good gyros in Burque). The housemade creation (meaning non-prepackaged—Kokangul mixes his own blend of meats and spices, then applies and roasts them on a vertical spit) is quite affordable, at $4.25 a pop. Not that you'll have extra room, but the dolmas, covered in cacik sauce are also to die for. Public Comments |
