Dripfed • Communion of Thieves • Nuclear Scorn • Roñoso
Denver crustcore quintet Dripfed lists “sociopolitical discourse, with one eye on the past and one on the future” as their sole interest. The lyrical focus of five-piece crust punk / hardcore outfit Communion of Thieves focus is on border issues, religion and governmental oppression of Spanish-speaking people in the El Paso area. Fellow borderland band Nuclear Scorn, a metal / crustpunk / D-beat foursome, dish out self-described “simple, raw-ass, dirty” grind. The Burqueño heavy metallurgy scene is represented by crust / sludge trio Roñoso. Crust aficionados can revel in the sonic tumult of four obstreperous acts at Synchro Studio (512-B Yale SE) on Friday. The all-ages show starts at 8:30 p.m. and the cover is a paltry five bucks.
