Cooper's Hawk, Hunting

Sarah Bonneau

Yesterday for the first time this winter, a Chipmunk appeared to eats seeds on our patio. We have had quite a few hawks hunting our area, but usually its a Sharp-Shinned Hawk looking for the Gambel Quails that frequent our seeds.

This beauty hopped from our far fence to the interior fence and I managed to get this one shot. He's beautiful don't you think?

On a side note the bird seeds store folks told me yesterday that within the last week there have been numerous sighting of Bald Eagles between Paseo del Norte and Alameda along the Bosque.
