..I was already hating Nintendo. By the '90s, though, I really thought this stuff would forever remain limited to video game consoles. Microsoft was the biggest threat to advancing the state of the art (and maybe they still are; I don't know), so I didn't worry much about the older enemy.

Pretty naive. Now it looks like we're in for a hell of a battle.

Seriously, when are people going to wake up and realize they all took the wrong pill?

Maybe never. Apple's products are very slick and work well, and they deserve respect. People can use this stuff and never have any idea of what all they're missing. Never had to worry about that from Microsoft.
