69 years ago Japan should never have awakened the "sleeping giant". What we did was really nasty; lets hope nobody ever makes it necessary again (it was).

I realize "decimate" has been used incorrectly long enough by enough that the Usage Panel gave up. Maybe someday 9 or 11 yrs will be close enough for a decade, and 9 or 11 centimeters close enough for a decimeter too...

C'mon! Correct spelling is for the OCD Nazis. Take a hint from the Usage Panel and just go with the flow, don't worry about decimating your spelling!
